Activities
Mauritius is a volcanic island with lagoons and impressive palm-fringed beaches and coral reefs surrounding most of the coastline all situated in the Indian Ocean. The island of Mauritius welcomes tourists all year round and has a multicultural population.
At Les Mariannes, our patients have the opportunity to visit the island during their free time. Most of our outings take place on Sundays and you will be accompanied during excursions by our staff from the clinic. Most of our patients tend to choose activities on the coastline.
Swim with dolphins
An exceptionally unique experience! Explore magnificent marine mammals in their natural habitat as you immerse yourself in the adventure of swimming with dolphins in the crystal clear waters of Tamarin Bay in the west of the island.

Golf
Mauritius has a variety of golf courses where you can practise your swing while enjoying the beautiful views over the exceptional landscape overlooking the island.

La Vallee des Couleurs
Spread over 450 acres of land, La Vallee des Couleurs Reserve is home to various species of flora and fauna and is a wonderful place to enjoy a wide range of activities. Perhaps you would like to discover the 23 coloured earth which consists of an amazingly unique geological feature. Visitors can also enjoy various activities such as quad biking, zip-lining and you can even pay a visit to the Nepalese Bridge and Luge Kart.

Trekking
Mauritius is renowned for its breath-taking mountains, rivers and forests. You can enjoy hiking and trekking in nature and will have the choice between trekking in the Black River gorges which is a natural reserve or hiking the Le Morne Mountain which has been recognized as a World Heritage site by UNESCO to commemorate the Marronage legacy in Mauritius.

Quad Biking
Experience adventurous Quad biking activities in one of the world’s most amazing natural settings! This fun outing will allow you to savour the beautiful greenery and panoramic views of multiple sites. Quad biking activities are available in various locations across the country including – Vallée Des Couleurs, Casela World of Adventures, Yemen Natural Reserve, Frederica Nature Reserve and many more. We promise that you won’t be disappointed!

Horse Riding
Horse riding is a must when visiting Mauritius. Discover blue lagoons, white sandy beaches and breath-taking nature on horseback. We can arrange for your horse riding outing to be located in various spots of the island depending on your preference. Perhaps you’d like to ride on the beach in Belle Mare, or maybe you would prefer to ride along Mont Choisy and Riambel and view the mountain paths while enjoying the breath-taking views on the East of the island.
Deep sea fishing
Mauritius is one of the world’s biggest game fishing destinations. Deep-sea fishing is a very exciting attraction and this activity is open to all with no experience needed. Onboard, you will enjoy a deep-sea excursion with qualified experts to guide you on the technical aspect. The best time to fish is early in the morning and depending on the time of year, you will have the opportunity to target Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Wahoo, Marlin, Dorado and other big species. Come aboard and enjoy a memorable experience fishing off the coast of Mauritius!

Catamaran outing
Enjoy a memorable sea outing on The Catamaran. You can choose a 7-hour tour during which you will sail through crystal-clear waters while taking in the breath-taking scenery all around, relax on the beautiful white sandy beaches, snorkel inside lagoons and explore local marine life. You will get the opportunity to explore local islands and enjoy delicious culinary delights. This cruise is all about ensuring that you have a full day of pure relaxation and fun.

Port Louis Old market visit
The Port Louis Old Market is a fun and enjoyable place to visit. It’s the ideal place to find locally made products and souvenirs at very low prices. During the visit, the local merchants will offer you a wide range of products such as textiles, Mauritian spices, fruits, vegetables, bags and musical instruments. You can also enjoy delicious street food which is unique to Mauritius such as Dholl puri, Alouda and gateaux piments!

Shopping day
A trip to Mauritius without going shopping is considered incomplete and it’s safe to say that you will have a unique shopping experience in Mauritius! Between the street markets and shopping malls, you can purchase souvenirs, gifts and duty-free items in a variety of luxury shops all dotted around the island. We can arrange a shopping day during which you will also enjoy visiting the handicraft markets, oriental shops and ship model workshops.
Cultural day
With ancestors from Africa, China, Europe and India, just some of the many cultures and religions that co-exist together. We have many different excursions that will take you on an inspiring journey where you will visit museums, temples, churches, pagodas and mosques around the island. During the outing, you will immerse yourself in the Mauritian culture and discover a diversity of traditions.
